Mooresville, NC, 26 May — An Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon team of military Veterans and their caregivers/family and a core group of Volunteers spent several days in NC visiting the JR Motorsports Shop, touring a local lake on a dinner cruise and attending the ALSCO 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity race. The reason? AaSP’s Benefactor, Unilever, had sponsored a Unilever/Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon race car!
On Friday morning, race driver Justin Allgaier did a Meet and Greet at the hotel and the team got to interact with Justin, get autographs, pictures, etc.
They then visited the headquarters of JR Motorsports, the racing team owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., his sister Kelley and Rick Hendrick.
JR’s Ron Lemasters provided a great shop tour.
Friday night the group, including four wounded/recovering Veterans and their Caregivers/Family, toured a local lake on a dinner cruise.
Saturday morning it was time to head over to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Car 7 was already on pit road. Some of the team got the chance to go there and see the cars, pit crews, drivers and feel the excitement! One got to lift a tire!
Our team was focused on Justin and Car 7!
Car racing is exciting, especially when they’re getting ready to go.

Justin lead a ton of laps! But in the end, some bad racing luck two laps from the finish hurt him. He finished a proud 7th. Great race driving!!!!
