For years, the Super Bowl Party for our wounded and recovering Veterans had been held at Walter Reed Nat’l Mil. Med. Center. Now the party is held at the Bethesda/Chevy Chase (MD) Rescue Center. Led by Captain John “Woody” Woodall and volunteers from the FDNY and Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, as well as the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, it’s a great, family-oriented event. There are gifts for the children and the wounded and recovering Vets; and being away from the military environment is a great and relaxing environment. Additionally, NFL alumni attend as well to sign autographs and let the kids wear their Super Bowl rings. Karl Nelson (NY Giants) and Joe Andruzzi (Patriots) have attended.
