Our last Salute to American Heroes for a while will be October 19, 2023!
Please save the date. We are very excited to have an internationally-known Wounded/Recovering Veteran be our Special Guest for our final year —
Hari Budha Magar, former Royal British Gurkha fighter and renowned Disabled Rights advocate. Hari is a double above-the-knee amputee, blown up by an IED in Afghanistan in the War on Terror. Hari lives in England and we have learned he has just summited Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 29,032 ft, according to The Himalayan Times.

EMCEE and Auctioneer:
Our EMCEE, Auctioneer and Sports Director is former NY Giant Super Bowl Champion, Karl Nelson. Karl is also an Ambassador for AaSP and we’re so proud of the job he does! This picture is from last year’s “day after” trip to MetLife Stadium, where our special attendees got a personal tour of parts of the stadium, the field and even the locker room that most people never see, thanks to Karl.
Auctions:
Our Gala is known for its large selection of unique auction items, especially military and sports items. Our Sports Director, and EMCEE, Karl Nelson, was a NY Giants Super Bowl Champion (# 63) and comes up with great sports items. He also brings some of his football friends and fellow athletes to the Gala! In addition to the silent auction (you can bid on your phone) we also have an exciting live auction.
This exciting LIVE Auction item is one of Hari Budha Magar’s Khukuri knives, given to our President years ago. Alan and Mary-Edna have donated it to our auction in honor of our exciting Special Guest!
Another exciting LIVE Auction item is this Saddam Hussein watch! Found in Iraq by then SGM Paul Wilcock during a routine house search, SGM W generously donated it to us for our auction. Talk about a conversation piece!
Outstanding Ammo Can blue tooth speaker from KPM Audio. Fabulous sound in military format!
Signed copy of “Walk the Blue Line,” featuring On Patrol Live sheriff’s officers, Ady Perez, Capt. Danny Brown and Sheriff Leon Lott of Richland County, SC, all who signed their sections in the book!
Really cool Rock Guitar ashtray from “Blackened,” cigar makers who produce cigars with Metallica’s name.
Bourbon “Smoker” cocktail package with four different bourbons, bitters, smoker accents and other accessories to make great cocktails.
